Turkish Ship Suppliers Association (TURSSA) was established on July 4th, 2003 in order to have a corparate identity for the sector, in Turkey.
As the Turkish Ship Suppliers Association, we are proud to have reached our 21st year as of July 2024. Turkish Ship Supply Sector has gained a great momentum in its development since it was gathered under a corporate roof, 21 years ago.
I would like to thank all my colleagues in our sector who took part in the establishment of our Association and to our members who continue to add value to our sector with their great efforts.
Turkey’s geopolitical position, where international shipping business is busy, provides a great natural advantage to the Turkish ship supply sector. Turkey has a strategic location and a function relating to the Straits, so it is described as an important corridor. Bosphorus and Dardanelles are the only sea passages to the Black Sea, therefore they make Istanbul a critical maritime point.
TURSSA aims to increase its share in the global area as a qualified, trustable and eco-friendly service bridge between land suppliers and the maritime industry. We continuously work in coordination with all our relevant ‘sector stakeholders’ and especially the Turkish Chamber of Shipping.
We increase our global presence via our strong relationship with ISSA (International Shipsuppliers & Services Association) and OCEAN (European Ship Suppliers Organization). TURSSA has a longstanding partnership with them and serves as a connection between its national members and the global ship supply community.
As TURSSA, we have still responsibility related to the ‘Awareness of Sustainability’, which was the 20th year theme of our Association. Now, for the 21st year, we aim to aim to embrace the theme of ‘Adapting to Global Conditions with Foresight’. Changes in global business conditions and economic & geopolitical risks concern our sector as well as all other sectors.
